North Lincolnshire Leisure & Culture Awards
Steve Clark short-listed
Lincsquad's Steve Clark has been short-listed for the Sports Achiever of the Year Award at the 2010 North Lincolnshire Leisure & Culture Awards on 11th March.
After competing in multi-sport events for a number of years, progressing year after year, and representing his country in Quadrathlon World Championships for the last 2 years, 2009 was Steve's best year yet, recording a number of terrific performances.
Steve finished 1st in the British Quadrathlon Association sanctioned North Lincs Adventure Challenge, recording one of the fastest ever times, even more significant as he had competed in an Olympic distance triathlon the day before. Steve also won the David Lloyd Hull Sprint Triathlon in August and finished 7th (2nd Brit) in the World Fire Fighter Games Triathlon that same month, winning the silver medal in his age group.
The finale to Steve's terrific season culminated in qualifying to represent his country in the World Age Group Triathlon Championships in Gold Coast, Australia. Unfortunately after moving into the top 30 and with only 6 miles left on the bike, Steve picked up a puncture which cost him 40 places, he did manage to reclaim 20 places on a fantastic run.
The short-listed nomination is great acknowledgement for Steve's commitment and dedication to the sport and everyone at Lincsquad wishes you all the best on the night.
